Ohhh cousin Ruben, had I only know you were struggling with your health? Had not seen you since November 2009. It had been a minute! Had not spoken to you since 2010. Had no idea you were not well? OMG! You were a good man. You were the example family man, father, husband, grandfather. Thank you for being the good-hearted human being. May your family-soul-centered soul RIP and RISE in GLORY! I had the opportunity to be one of the care givers of Mr. Smith. Despite of his sickness, he reminded a true man of character, a true man of God. His sweetness was contagious. After doing something for him, he never failed to say Thank you with all the words of encouragement you ever know. I am so lucky to have the privilege to know this family. They really stole my heart. I extend my deepest and sincere condolences to you my darling sister, Frances, and to the entire family! May the soul of Mr. Rueben Smith rest in paradise!!!

REUBEN T. SMITH (Affectionately addressed as "Doc!" ) Doc, was a God fearing man, whom God empowered with multiple gifting. He, was a man of substance! Reuben's Ambition, Integrity, etiquette, and sense of Purpose were some of the factors and virtues which governed and propelled him throughout his sojourn. He was a people's person.

One whom God so uniquely empowered and whose skills augmented change in the lives of thousands of individuals, especially men.

One of his uniqueness was that he had a keen sense of humor. He was good at finding and assigning a name to everyone he got to know or spoke with. And at the end of the conversation, no matter how brief or long it was, he had a name for them, which he kept secret until he heard someone referenced the person then he would ask "who are you referring to?" And before giving you time to respond, he would quickly say his special name for that person.

Reuben demonstrated love, appreciation and gratitude to all. In addition, his generosity and compassion crowned the fore mentioned virtues shown to his neighbors, family and friends. It was untapped and paralleled to nothing else. He found time to listen to every and anyone.

He also had a way of identifying a person who was disingenuous as a 5th Column! Meaning they could not to be trusted. He extended himself to ALL whom he came into contact with.

He had the heart of Eva Smith, but most importantly a man who feared God! The world is better off because of this man laid out here before us today. Reuben T. Smith!

May his soul rest peacefully until the rapture hen he will be invited to that great Marriage Supper of The Lamb. And inherit his eternal mansion Jesus has prepared for him.

Reflections of my good friend and brother in Christ. Reuben Smith was a true friend and brother. I first met him in 1969 along with Carlton Thompson, Villienue Hanna and Edwin Johnson we all became good friends and remained friends until his demise. Reuben was a giant of a man, who loved family and friends. We shared many wonderful times together. We talked often on the phone for hours. He gave me good advice. Reuben was humorous and our conversations were filled with laughter. Reuben taught me so much. I will truly miss his wise counsel, encouragement and love. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace. Sleep on my brother until we meet again.
