Mr. William “June” M. Huddleston, Jr. of Cherryville, NC passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 11, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late William Huddleston, Sr. and the late Nettie Fay Dawkins Huddleston as their youngest child.
“June” as he was affectionately known by many was a 1969 graduate from Burns High School and was one of the first to help integrate the school. He was employed with Timken Bearing Company for 26 years. “June” was a peacemaker and loved to encourage others. He loved the Lord and loved reading the Word of God and was an avid history buff. He was a great story-teller and also enjoyed going to drag racings, watching weterns and had an interest in trains, lear jets, wolves, horses and loved eating ice cream.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Huddleston and sister, Carolyn Webber.
He leaves to cherish his memory to his sons, Cameron McKenzie Huddleston, Sr. (Rhonda) of Cherryville, NC and Victor Warner Huddleston (Samantha) of SC; a sister, Denise Eskridge (Vernon) of Shelby, NC; his grandchildren, Cameron Huddleston, Jr. of the home, Harry Morgan Huddleston of Denver, NC, Amber Ownesby (Sean) of GA, Hannah Huddleston, Nicolaus Huddleston , Alayah Huddleston, Malayah Huddleston, Caiden Hudleston all of SC and Marissa Setzer of Gastonia, NC; great-grandchild, Rylen Huddleston; niece and nephews, Lamia Howell, Aaron Webber and Myron Webber; special cousin, Strickland Maddox; good friends, Bobby and Ellen Brooks and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the chapel.
