Mr. Shonniel “Solo” Blackburn, 35 of Hickory, NC departed this earthly life on Monday, June 13, 2022 in Hickory, NC. He was born on April 21, 1987 in Hickory, NC.

Shonniel was a happly go lucky young man. He loved rapping. His special thing though was spending time with his children, and his family, taking trips and working at the Fair Ground. Shonniel was a very funny person and well loved by many. He was a fashion icon who dressed to the T and was admired by many how he kept himself. He was a big part of all of us and will be greatly missed.

He has joined the following in Heaven, grandmother, Pinkie Lou Mull; grandfathers, Author Blackburn and Robert Lee Vinson; brother, Marso Sims and Altega Horne and a sister Glory Blackburn.

He leaves behind his mother, Rossella Blackburn of Hickory, NC; fathers Gary Vinson of Lawndale, NC, Charles Sims of Hickory, NC and special father figure, Linton Cansler of Lincolnton, NC; grandmother, Lucy Vinson of Lawndale, NC; sons, Shamar Blackburn, Darius Resean Bolick, Zayden Sonneil Blackburn, Major Amir Bolick and D’andre Anderson; daughters, Z’Kira Blackburn, Javeah Shanel Bolick and London Bolick; brothers, Raymond Sims, Jamaica Sims and Jermi Sims all of Hickory and Damien Horne of TN; sisters, Evelyn McRae (Anthony), Pinkie Sims, Lovvonda, Tomeka Sims, Shatina Blackburn, Cordesha Blackburn all of Hickory, Tasha Tipps (Lamont) of Lawndale, Marcella Willard of Charlotte, NC; aunts, Revonda Vinson of Lawndale, Patsy Patterson of Hickory, NC and Lexie Littlejohn of Lincolnton, NC; uncle, Robert Sims; fiancé, Kelsea Bolick and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at United House of Prayer for All People in Hickory, NC. Burial will take place at Southside Cemetery. The family will receive friends there from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

as I watched him grow into a handsome young man most of the time on 7th STREET SE. I always Put a tittle god talk to the guys when they would be parked om the street .HE WAS A KIND AND loving person ,and always showed me great respect. to the family I'm praying for you. I shouldn't be typing for this right now and it still feels so unreal, but heaven has gained the coolest angel ever 😇❤️🙏🏾🕊🌹 Shonniel is a great father, loving son, protective brother, the funniest uncle and my lover for eternity. Our last words to each other was I love you and I will always remember that our last moments together were so peaceful ❤️ We love and miss you so so much.
