Mrs. Orgar Albert Walton, 93 of Lawndale, NC passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Atrium Health in Lincolnton, NC. She was born on August 23, 1926 in Hartsville, SC to the late Man and Bertha Brown Albert.
Mrs. Walton was a retired worker from Cleveland Mills of Lawndale, NC. She also was a retired Teachers Assistant at Union Elementary School through the Adoptive Grandparents Program. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lawndale where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Senior and Mass Choirs. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapter #3 Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Woodrow Walton; two brothers, Man Stone Albert and Henry Albert; seven sisters, Bernice Shade, Minnie Albert Ratchford, Pauline Albert, Agnes Famble, Lacy Hutley, Lurline Dawkins and Edna Mae Hush; a grandson, Quentin Rudisill; two brothers-in-law &sisters-in-law, Edgar Hue Walton, Sr. (Mazelle) and Cleveland Walton (Janette); stepmother-in-law, Susie Walton; stepsister-in-law, Emma Johnson; three stepbrother-in-laws, Ardell Whitworth, Edward Whitworth, and Coleman Whitworth.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law; Thomas Walton (Shirley), Wayne Walton (Debra) all of Shelby, NC, Calvin Walton of Boiling Springs, NC and Charles Walton (Machele) of Charlotte, NC; Step-son Woodrow Walton Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Walton-Davis (Anthony) of Atlanta, GA and Valeria Walton-Willis(Allen) of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Angeline Walton-Byrd(Odell) of Lawndale, NC; stepbrother-in-law, Willie Whitworth of Lawndale, NC and 14grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. God-Son and his wife, Harvey Hector (Claudia) of Lawndale, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Walton will be private. She may be viewed on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church in Lawndale. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will not receive friends because of COVID-19 but the service will be livestreamed starting at 12:45 PM via the Facebook page of Enloe Mortuary.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mrs. Walton. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She will be be truly missed by all of us. Oh my sweet caring loving God fearing Mrs. Walton. Such a pleasure to have known her! She will always have a special place in my heart. Her children were dear to her and she was SO proud of each of them. She spoke highly of ALL of you. Thank you God for allowing me to be part of her life. May you all cling to the Father for your comfort and peace for if you have put your trust and faith in Him you will be united again with this precious Momma Grandmomma and Great Grandmomma I will be remembering you all in the coming days weeks and months as you grieve. To Uncle Wayne, Thomas, Charles, Margaret, Val and Family I remember holding hands and talking with Ms Orga at family gatherings. She was always poised & politely soft spoken. It was an honor sharing conversation. She was greatly admired & will be greatly missed!
