Mrs. Mary Ann Wilson, 81, of Shelby, NC, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at CaroMont Health in Gastonia, NC. She was born on August 28, 1942, in Cleveland County, NC to the late James Huskey and the late Eunice Accor Huskey.
Mary Ann joined and became a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church at an early age. She worked in housekeeping until she retired in the early 2000’s. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking cakes and making homemade strawberry ice cream. She also enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, going to the flea market and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wilson, Jr. and a sister, Grace Poole.
Left to cherish the fond memories are daughters, Janet Wilson and Valerie Brown (Stanley), both of Shelby, NC, and Tierra Littlejohn of Kings Mountain, NC; son, Kenneth Wilson of Kings Mountain, NC; five sisters, Sandra Avery, Martha Davis, and Cherre Huskey, all of Shelby, NC; Theresia Lowery of Greensboro, NC, and Patricia Littlejohn-Good of Concord, NC; grandchildren, LaKissia Slowiaczek (Joseph) of Charlotte, NC; LaKelia Hardy of Gaffney, SC, Kenyona Wilson of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Petty and Malani Williams of Kings Mountain, NC; five great grandchildren, Kahleah Wilson and JaKaylah Hardy of Shelby, NC, Kamden Wilson, Joseph Slowiaczek IV and MaKenzie Slowiaczek of Charlotte, NC; special friends Doristeen Barnette and Effie Haynes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday and all other times at 331 Jack Francis Rd. Shelby.
Your Mother was always nice to me. Our nickname for each other was "Lazy." My sincere condolences 🙏🏾
