Mr. Lee Manuel Hopper, 68, of Shelby, NC departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. He was born on August 10, 1954 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Garland Hopper, Sr. and the late Hattie Ross Hopper.
Lee Manuel was a member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church where he served on the usher board and security team. He was formerly employed with Kenneth Humphries Plumbing and was known as the “handyman” to many people in Boiling Springs and the Shelby area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Garland Hopper, Jr., Hazel Lee Hopper, Robert J. Hopper and Paul Ray Hopper and sisters, Mary Magalene Maddox, Rosie Williams, Betty Archie and Carolyn Adams.
He leaves fond memories to his daughter, McKayla Leeann Eaker; siblings, Walter Hopper and wife Annie) and Sarah Gill and husbandSherwood both of Shelby and Willie Langston and husband Barry of Boiling Springs, NC; a grandson, Candon Eaker; special friend, Rose Corry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 3:30 PM at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Saturday and at other times at 105 Pineland Ave. in Shelby.
