Obituary For Karen Leary

Mrs. Karen Leary, 54, of 114-7 Goddard Road, Shelby, NC, sadly left us on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Atrium Health Cleveland, Shelby, NC. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 5, 1969, to the late Ray Schenck, Sr. and the late Vera Catlin Schenck.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Ethan Ari Schenck.

Karen loved to cook and clean. She enjoyed watching her favorite television shows Midsommer Murders, Little House on the Prairie, and Doc Martin. Karen always brought a smile to everyone’s face. She was a woman of God and served God until her death.

She has left behind a loving husband, Marvin; a darling mother to three daughters, Brehanna Hopper Schenck, Egypt Leary, and Jacqueline Leary; three siblings, Ray Schenck Jr. (Mary Etta), Veronica Schenck, and Maria Baily; a handful of grandchildren, Damarion, Jayden, Liamani, and Kingston; nieces, Cherie, Lamia, Amber, Aleaha, Lyric, Raylyn, and Camari; and nephews, Travis, Travis Jr., Jy’lantz, Jackie, Justin, Josh, and Philip, who will miss her so much

Funeral services will he held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Unity Independent Baptist Church in Shelby, NC at 3:00 PM, with the receiving of friends at 2:00 PM. All other times the family will be receiving friends at the home from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM daily.
