I remember working at Hickory Creek Apartments in 2004 when I met Ms. Gussie and I knew right away she was a sweet lady, very outgoing and very nice, and had a great sense of humor. I always loved going down the hill to visit her in her apartment. God rest her spirit and bless her friends and loved ones.
Sweet, sweet lady, whom I met years ago at The Salvation Army in Shelby. She was volunteering and I was writing stories about the corps. Now I'm working at the corps myself, and I often think back, probably 20 years or so, to the people I met here. Miss Gussie was sweet above all, and always served with a glad heart. Cassie Herndon
