Mr. Eaker Hue Campbell, Sr., 72, of Kingstown, NC departed this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on November 12, 1947 in Lawndale, NC to the late Ozzie and Louise Farley Campbell.
Eaker Hue attended Douglas High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawndale. He was employed at PPG Industries for over 30 years. Eaker Hue was a very nice dresser and took pride in his appearance. He was a very hard worker who loved his family, working in his garden and sports. Eaker Hue also enjoyed watching old Western movies with his dog “Sebastin” by his side.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Grant Campbell, Thomas “Gene” Campbell, Odus Campbell and Nathaniel Campbell and a sister, Geneva Jefferies.
Left to cherish his memory are Helen T. Campbell, his wife of over 30 years; his children, Aretha “Bunnie" Hines (Bernard) of Shelby, Troy Campbell of Charlotte, NC, Eaker Campbell, Jr. of the home, Robbie Fuller, grandson also of the home, Whitney Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Joyreka Brooks all of Shelby and Jonah Brooks (Maritza) of Kings Mountain; his brother, Matthew Campbell of Lawndale, NC; his sisters, Elnora Hunt and Aileen of Kingstown, NC; a “very special friend”, Jo Ellen Bradshaw and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Mr. Campbell will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church Lawndale and at other times at the home of his daughter, Bunnie Hines, 117 Rosebank Dr. Shelby. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook starting at 1:45 PM on Tuesday. Burial will take place at First Baptist Church Lawndale Cemetery.
