Obituary For Chad McDowell

Mr. Chad Everette McDowell transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland, Shelby NC. He was born in Cleveland County on February 14, 1977 to the late Shelia Jennings McDowell and Everette Wayne McDowell.

Chad attended Shelby City Schools, and worked in manufacturing for a brief period of time. There was never a dull moment while in the company of Chad! He will be remembered for his free spirit and genuine love for others. Chad rededicated his life to Christ on October 3, 2023 in the presence of family. He spent his remaining days preparing to meet his Savior.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jessie & Joesph Eaves and Fannie & Willie Jennings; paternal grandparents, Elder Elsie McDowell & James McDowell, Sr.

Left with cherished fond memories along with his father are John Dawson, who was a father figure; his wife, Cassandra McDowell; sons, Vandarius Robertson and Akhil Jennings; stepsons, Steven Hoskins and Quincy Smith; a stepdaughter Cierra Thompson; grandchildren Vaviana, Vanity, Ha’Diya Zachariah and Draylen Robertson; a sister Regina Manning (Michael); a brother, Shaft Jennings. Jimmy Whisnant who was like a brother, and Rozlyn Petty, Kwana Wells and Tina Whisnant who were like sisters. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Enloe Mortuary Chapel, located at 231 N. Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28150. A private service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, NC.

Repass will take place at the Holly Oak Park Activity Center at 3:00pm on Monday, November 20, 2023. Friends and family are welcome to attend the repass.

In addition, the family will receive friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law Regina and Michael Manning, 804 Requa Road, Cherryville, NC on Saturday, Nov. 18th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Psalm 34:22 (NIV) “The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.” Take your rest Chad, we love you and will miss you dearly.
