Mr. Alan Lamont Freeman, 46 entered into eternal life in Muskegon, MI on Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was born on December 27, 1973 in Cleveland County, NC to Bobby Freeman, Sr. and Dorothy Jackson Freeman.
Alan was a 1992 graduate of Burns High School. He later attended South Piedmont College where he studied Industrial Engineering. This field of study led him in the field of car manufacturing. His employment included Save A Load in Charlotte, NC which later became Fleet Engineering. While employed with Fleet Engineering, he received certification in L.E.A.N. fundamentals training via the Ground Zero Workshop and relocated with the company, to Michigan around 2015. Seeking advancement in the field, he joined ADAC Automotive. His innovative ideas to improve productivity within the company proved valuable and earned him various certificates and acknowledgements from management executives.
Alan was a lover of life and was never afraid to try new things. Precocious from a youth, he taught himself Spanish and was an interpreter with Trojan Labor in Charlotte, NC. He also taught himself to play the keyboard. Alan loved people young and old alike. He volunteered at the Rutherford Correctional Facility in NC where he mentored inmates on accountability and responsibility before they were to be released back into society. He was a peacemaker and a joy bringer. When he walked into a room, the atmosphere changed. He was a pleasure to be around and his smile was hypnotizing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Freeman, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Theron and Christine Jackson and his paternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Lena Bell Freeman.
He leaves to cherish his memory to his mother, Dorothy Jackson of Charlotte, NC; step-father, Larry Hamilton, (Kim); a son, Tyjuan Patterson of Shelby, NC; two brothers, Bobby Freeman, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and Rodney “Rico” Freeman (Monica) of Gastonia, NC; two sisters, Barbara Ann Freeman of Charlotte and Tonya Murray (David) of Forest City, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; his “Michigan Family” which includes, Diane (Joe) and Nina; Brian, Mike, Miranda, Lindsay and the rest of the crew at ADAC and last but certainly not least his beloved pit bulldog and companion, Bliss.
Funeral services for Mr. Freeman will be private. He can be viewed from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Green Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.

My heart is heavy and eyes filled with tears but to know Alan, he would not want us to be sad. His smile could light up the darkest room and just his presence would make you feel a little bit better than you did before you saw him. Fond memories and the grace of God will keep us close until we meet again. Rest easy Cuzzo. May God bless and keep you all.
Alan Freeman was my bigger brother, I just made it home from the funeral and I'm reading of the lives that were touched by my brother! As a minister myself I've watched Alan and learned that my titles didn't mean a thing, it's all about how you live your life that's most important. Please remember the lessons we've learned from him, until we see him again. With Love Rico
Our heavenly father put Alan and Bliss on our path for a zillion reasons most of which were shared. My hubby called him his "big dog " bc he was short yet brave and strong. There are only a few Alan's in this life. Like you we were fortunate for God to carve him into our lives. Miss you lots our Sunshine, Joe and Dianne Slough, Muskegon Michigan .

I've known Alan the past few years at work. I was fortunate to have spent some time outside of work with Alan. Whenever I was having a bad day his smile seemed to make all my troubles disappear. He had a great attitude. I appreciated his concern when asking me how was my Mom doing as she is going through cancer treatments.
