From Pastor Nancy Majette and Family, to the family of Elder Del Smith. Sis, you already greatly missed as a cheerful co-laborer in the work of the Lord, a friend, sister, prayer, study & iron sharpens iron partner. While we are unable to travel to be present with the Smith family and friends during the memorial celebration, know that our prayers continue for you. And, although hearts are heavy, we rejoice with you in knowing that Elder Del has been promoted to her place in God's Glory and is present with the Lord. With sincere love and gratitude for our time together on earth. Memories will be carried in our hearts and we are hopeful in looking to see you again.
Elder Del, your radiant smile and love for life was a joy to so many. You were a jewel to the body of Christ and a tremendous help to all who you came in contact. Your spirit of excellence and dedicated service is unmatched. You will truly be missed! My deepest sympathy to BJ, Bryant, and the rest of the family and friends.

Momma Del,to say you'll be missed is an understatement. I am so grateful to have had a chance to be with you prior to your transition. Your bright smile, warm hugs, resounding shouts during service at Faith Full Gospel Baptist Church and your notorious smell that announced your presence before anyone knew you were in the building are all memories that will comfort me during this time. Thank you for loving a sassy and often misunderstood teenager who will always and forever hold you near and dear. I pray that it is well with your soul and will continue to keep your family, especially yours sons on my thoughts and prayers. Until we meet again, I will wear a little purple for you,my dear!-from your Kandy
My Prayers and Thoughts are with the Family. I remember calling the church asking for prayer while in the hospital pregnant with my daughter at 25 weeks... she prayed for us an I'll never forget her. She had such a beautiful warming and welcoming spirit that everybody was somebody. May the Holy Spirit comfort the Family
My deepest condolences to the family. Ms. Del was such a sweet person and she informed me quickly that she was D. Tatum's "best friend in the whole wide world". Take your rest beautiful
I will never forget meeting Del at St. James Baptist Church. The title red church sitting by the railroad tracks on Carter Hill Road. Upon learning that she worked in the finance industry, I recommended her as the Chairman of the Trustee Board to become the Financial Secretary. She truly was a joy to work with and as a person. She was extremely personable and a devoted mother. She loved God, her pastor and church family. My last encounter with her was her was at her graduation receiving a Masters in Counseling. She was overjoyed to see me. I congradulated her on her achievement. She was astound to learn that I was a therapist. She will be truly missed as loving and vitreous woman. May her soul find peace in heaven. My sincerest condolences for her sons and family. L.C. Washington
Delfreda and I met in Trinity Lutheran Church as childhood friends. We maintained a frienship through our high school years and some of our adult years. We visited each other houses on Sunday after church. We respected and loved each other. May God bless the family and keep the family in His never ending love.
Del Freda I am so sad to here of your homegoing. I remember working with you at now Regions Bank in the drive-through window downtown Montgomery, back in the 80's. You were such a wonderful person full of life. Rest in the hands of Jesus.
