Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Billy Joe Jones, of Lithonia will be held Friday, July 23, 2021, 12:00 PM at Shekinah Glory Tabernacle, Decatur. Apostle Gregory Sherman, Eulogist; Minister Cynthia Cunningham, Presiding. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Decatur. The family will receive friends, Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the mortuary, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Ann Carr-Jones and four children: Tammye Barnes (Jerome), of Snellville, GA; Billy Gardner (Jayidah) of Phoenix, AZ, Crystal Jones of Wilmington, NC; and Naja Hines of Suwanee, GA. His siblings: Russell L. Simms; Naja M. Simms, and Charles I. Simms. His mother-in-law, Mary Carter; his sister-in-law: Betty McGuire (Mercer); his sister-in-law Florie Baker hand a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, god-children and special friends. I remember when, I came home from the Army after basic training and uncle Billy was so proud of me being a fellow military man in our family. And he told me stay in the Army for 20yrs and your set for life. His smile and words of wisdom still echo in my head.
