Barbara Ann Carter Richardson, 75 of Atlanta, Georgia; ~Sunrise 1947, Sunset 2023~
Barbara was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia where she grew up celebrating God's love for all people at Rose Hill Memorial Baptist Church and sang in the young adult choir. She attended William H. Spencer High School graduating in 1965. After completing a series of certification programs she began her working career of nearly four decades before retiring. Soon after starting her professional career, she embarked on what she felt was her most important endeavor, exceling as a devoted wife and dedicated mother to three children. Married 56 years, Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Huey L. Richardson, Sr., son, Huey L. (Katherine) Richardson, Jr., daughters, Tasha R. (Timothy) Ledrich and Sharina L. Richardson. Barbara was preceded in death by great grandmother, Ida Mae Davis, grandparents, Zebodiah (Zeke) "Red" Carter and Magdalene "Maggie" (Williams) Carter, mother, Ethel Mae "Lump" (Carter) Laster, uncle, Herman Carter and aunt, Dorothy "Dot" (Carter) Davis. Barbara is also survived by grandsons, Huey L. "Trip" Richardson, III, Timothy A. Ledrich, III, and Hunter Carter Richardson, brother, Calvin Atkins, sister, Donna (Laster) (Franklin) Ingram, cousins, loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. As a long-time member of First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Barbara was a dedicated choir member who loved to sing praises to God. Exhibiting love and compassion for EVERYONE, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. I remember her so well growing up in our church I always thought that she had such a beautiful and pleasant spirit about her . And now I will think of her as an angel in heaven.
