Mr. Waymon Roberts was born on August 15, 1940, to the late Mack and Gertrude Brown Roberts. He transitioned to eternal rest on February 8, 2025 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church, located at 7476 Highway 296, Stapleton, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 15517 Louisville Road, Avera, Georgia.
Mr. Roberts dedicated over 30 years of his life to GA Tennessee Mining. He had a passion for working on cars, enjoyed watching wrestling, and loved game shows, especially Family Feud. His fondness for spending time with family, tending to his yard, and watching westerns brought him great joy. He was united in marriage to the now late, Clara Lee Walden and was the proud father of four children: Frederick, Jason, and Wyman Jr.
He is preceded in death by several love ones: his beloved parents, Mack and Gertrude Brown Roberts, his wife, Clara Lee Walden Roberts, and his daughter, Angie Roberts, along with 13 siblings: Clifford, Sam, Weldon, Lewis, Arthur, Luther, Jimmy, Lindsey, Mitchell, Myrtice, Myrtle, Everline, and Pauline.
Waymon is survived by his children: Frederick (Lisa) Roberts of Avera, Georgia; Jason (Jennifer) Roberts of Louisville, Georgia; and Wyman (Jackie) Roberts of Wrens, Georgia. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law: Classie Roberts of Stapleton, Georgia; Annie Mae Roberts of St. Petersburg, Florida; Carolyn Terrell of Stapleton, Georgia; Gladys Flournoy of Atlanta, Georgia; and Lois Hudson of New Jersey.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Amanda Lewis of Grovetown, Georgia; Isaiah Cooper of Abilene, Texas; Christopher Roberts of Minnesota; Nicholas Roberts (Auriela) of Opelika, Alabama; Montel Hudson of Wrens, Georgia; Jordan (Emily) Heibert of Bartow, Georgia; Brianna Landrum of Wrens, Georgia; Savannah (Josue) Zavala of Louisville, Georgia; and Jayden (Ben) Gozur of Augusta, Georgia. He is also survived by great-grandchildren De’Kel Hobbs, Jayce Lewis, Jaden Lewis, Liam Roberts, Aaliyah Roberts, Judah Zavala, and Azrielle Roberts. Mr. Roberts cherished his Godson, Alphonzo Davis Jr., and was grateful for the care provided by his caregivers/nieces, Cathlene Blair and Gwendolyn Blair, as well as his special friend, Barbara Fleming; a host of loving nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.
Active Pallbearers will be Michael Roberts, Brandon Roberts, Jeremy Oliphant, Jimmie Roberts, Richard Roberts, Joseph Roberts, and Mychal Turner.
Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of GA Tennessee Mining and Stewards of Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church.
Flower bearers will be his nieces.
Mr. Waymon Roberts will be remembered for his dedication to family, work, and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
