A Military Service to Celebrate the life of Mr. John Turner will be held December 8, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at James and Virginia Chapel, 727 Beech Street, Louisville, GA
Interment will be held December 8, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Georgia Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, GA.
Public viewing will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
John was born in Louisville, GA to the parentage of the now late Lonzie Turner and Martha Taylor Turner. If you knew John you had to love him. He was a “Jack of All Trades”, and was always compassionate and sharing laughter and love.
He made his transition on Sunday morning, December 3, 2023 in Emanuel County Hospital, Swainsboro, GA.
He felt his obligation to do his part in serving his country and in 1979 he entered the US Army. He received an Honorable Discharge in June 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post #213 located in Bennettsville, SC
A void will forever be in the hearts devoted of his Companion: Evelyn ‘Bae Bae” Tomlin, Swainsboro, GA; his siblings: Willie Sholts, Augusta, GA, Dorothy Baker and Carolyn Armstrong, Wadley, GA, Elouise Turner, Bennettsville, S.C.; his children that he embraced with love: Antoinette Tomlin, Swainsboro, GA, Travis (Lakeira) Tomlin, Sandersville, GA, Sierra Tomlin, Wilmington, Delaware, Antavious Tomlin, Tallahassee, FL; Mother-in-law with love: Louise Holloway, Louisville, GA; three nieces Lesia Mixon of Augusta Ga, Ursula Renee Bardney (Perry) of Chicago, IL, Joyce Turner of Bennettsville, SC, a special niece Alisha Renee Kelly of Lake View, SC one nephew Willie Bruce Sholts of Lexington, Ky sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lisa Raiford, Augusta, GA, Joan (Robbin Warthen) McBride, Mark and Ella Walden, James and Charlotte McBride, Lewis and Pam McBride, Jennie M. Collins, Louisville, GA, Raymond McBride, Detroit, MI, Eric and Felicia Holloway Milledgeville, GA, Carl and Shavon Walden, Miami, FL; great nieces; Shannon Robinson (Laurence) of Swainsboro, Ga, , Tameka Sholts of Riverdale, Ga four great nephews Carlton Bardney (Sierra) of Austin, Tx, Brandon Bardney of Chicago, Il, and Aaron Joshua Campbell of Bennettsville, SC, Kevin Robinson of Augusta, Ga, two great-great nieces Ja’Mia McCall of Lake View, SC and Skye Robinson of Augusta, Ga and three great-great nephews Kingston and Langston Bardney of Chicago, Il and Kevin Robinson Jr. of Augusta, Ga and a host of cousins and a multitude of friends.
