Mr. Barry Bostic, Sr. was born in Nassau County, New York April 18, 1969 to the parentage of the late Freddy Lee Ross and Mildred Bostic Ross.
In Early 1970 Barry moved to Jefferson County where he lived in the home with his grandmother, the late Louise Bostic and other loving family members.
Barry made his transition from labor to reward on Monday morning, October 16, 2023 at his residence.
Public Viewing will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Jones Grove Baptist Church. 5064 Highway 1 North, Louisville, GA with the Pastor, Rev. Anthony Pierce, officiating. Interment will be held in the Jones Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a 1988 graduate of Louisville High School. Following his graduation he joined the U.S. Army where he served eight years before receiving an honorable discharge.
On December 24, 1989 he married the love of his life, Shawanda Thompson. To this union three children were born, B.J., Krystal, Ebony.
Barry worked at Kaminn Corporation until his retirement in 2020.
He enjoyed life and had many hobbies that he enjoyed including looking at videos, music, fishing, traveling, playing golf, spending time with family and following his Dallas Cowboy. He had many titles including son, husband, daddy, brother, nephew but the one that he really boasted about was being PaPa.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents: Freddy Lee Ross and Mildred Bostic Ross; his maternal grandmother, Louise Bostic; like a brother: George Young; an aunt that was so much like a Mama: Gladys Bostic;
He leaves an absence in the hearts of his loving wife of thirty-three years: Shawanda Thompson Bostic, Louisville, GA; four children: Barry "BJ" Bostic, Jr., Vining, GA, Krystal Bostic, Ebony Bostic, Louisville, GA and Shikira Robinson, Orlando, FL; a devoted sister and brothers-in-law: Dolly (Benjamin Sr.) Wicker; brother: Lasheen (Amanda) Ross, Far Rockaway, NY; one grandson: Kaiden Bostic, Louisville, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ernest (Cassandra) Thompson, Jr. , Smith Station, AL, Anthony (Terika) Pierce, Midville, GA, Erica Pierce, Jacksonville, FL and Nadia P. Rucker, Atlanta, GA; uncles and aunts: Rose and Eugene Beard, Jamaica Queens N.Y., Annie and Benjamin Parker, Milledgeville, GA, Odessa Bostic, Davisboro, GA, Eloise M. Smith, Louisville, GA, Ann and Johnny Dixon, Conyers, GA, Johnny Ross, Far Rockaway, NY, Mae L. and Bobby Turner-Fort Valley, GA, Leroy and Belinda Ross, Jonesboro, GA, Pauline Ogburn- Butler, GA, Arma Gene Ross, Hempstead, NY; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
