We were so sorry to get the sad news that our dear friend Walker Reid has passed away. He was one of the most important long term promoters of the Gastonia-Gotha sister cities ties. It has been our great pleasure to host Walker here in Gotha several times and many visitors from Gotha were able to experience real Southern hospitality in Gastonia. Our group of students and teachers met him in City Hall last September and enjoyed this wonderful meeting a lot. We are all very grateful for what Walker has done for sister cities and will never forget him.

Our words come with warm thoughts, sincere sympathy and the heartfelt hope that, now and always, you know that friends in Gotha, Germany, are with you.
