Obituary For Mary Lou Young

Mrs. Mary Lou Watkins Young was born July 11th, 1950 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina and departed this life Saturday, September 12, 2020 at her resident in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late J.P. Watkins and Louise Adams Watkins.

She attended Compact High School in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She was a former employee of Clevemont Mills and White Oak Manor.

Our Mother, known to many as Mary Lou, was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who took care of us all, as well as many others. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman L. Young, Sr.; sister, Delores Cole; two brothers, Richard Watkins and Leroy Watkins.

She leaves to cherish precious memories two sons, Thurman L. Young, Jr of Cherryville, NC and Kevin L. Young (Serbrena) of Lake Wylie, SC; three daughters, Freida L. Young of Kings Mountain, NC, Angela Young of Belmont, NC and Connie Young of Gastonia, NC; one sister, Nancy Watkins of New Haven, CT; two brothers, James Watkins and Chris Watkins both of Kings Mountain, NC; a host of grand-children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service

PLACE: Costner Funeral Home Chapel

DATE & TIME: Friday, September 18, 2020 @ 2:00 P.M.

VISITATION The family will receive friends at the funeral home for thirty minutes prior to service. (1:30 until 2:00 p.m.)
