Mrs. Carla Vincine Brown Floyd was born August 24, 1964, to the late Leroy and Roslyn Brown in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She departed this life on May 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Carla was educated at Kings Mountain High School and later attended Livingstone College, Salisbury, North Carolina. While attending Livingstone College Carla became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Carla also traveled the United States spreading the Gospel with the Livingstone College Prayer Meeting Choir.
Carla was a self-taught Cake Decorator using her skills in many bakeries including Winn-Dixie, Bi-Lo and Food Lion. In 1999, Carla started her career at home as a Medical Transcriptionist. To follow she worked for Sedgwick Claims Management Services until November 2020, when her illness onset. She had various interests and hobbies including reading, cooking, and crocheting. She spread love and demonstrated fellowship through catering and cooking for others. At an early age Carla joined Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, Gastonia North Carolina. As a member of Trinity-Unity A.M.E. Zion Church Carla lead the Kitchen Committee and spread her love throughout the Lincolnton District catering for the Lay Council and Christian Education Department. She also served as the Financial Secretary for the Mack and Mary Jordan Family Foundation. Carla was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Roslyn Brown, and one brother Jeffrey Scott Brown, maternal grandparents, Clarence and Ozena Adams and paternal grandparents, Walter and Nancy Brown, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
Leaving behind with fond memories are her husband of 27 years, Jeffrey Floyd, children; Donald Perry “D.J.” (Diana) Burlington, North Carolina, Brandon Floyd, Raleigh, North Carolina, Karly Floyd of the home and Max Floyd her fur baby and best friend, three brothers; Daryl Brown (Vickie), Raleigh, North Carolina, Wayne Brown, Blacksburg, South Carolina and Therndon Brown (Vicky), Kings Mountain, North Carolina, one sister; Ramona Brown “Lisa”, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, three aunts; Paulette McCorkle, Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary Helen Brown, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Marie Brown, Philadelphia, PA, two uncles; David Cornell Adams (Angelia), Charlotte, North Carolina, and Kenneth Adams (Carrie), Kings Mountain, North Carolina, one brother-in-law; Torah Floyd (Sylvia), Gastonia, NC, two sisters-in-law; Renee Coulter (William), Lincolnton, North Carolina, Frances Pagan (Darryl), Gastonia, North Carolina, two sisters by heart; Leslie Starnes, Gastonia, North Carolina and Lynn Roseboro, Kernersville, North Carolina, two God-sons; Omar Roseboro, Kernersville, North Carolina and Quinton Givens, Durham, North Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

DATE & TIME: Saturday, May 22, 2021 AT: 11:00 A.M.
Public viewing will be at the funeral home Friday, May 21, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
