Obituary For Stanley S Nelson

Stanley S. Nelson, 64, of Palatka, FL was born on Monday, October 10, 1955 to Robert Lee Nelson & Pearl Lee Offord in Brooklyn, New York. He received his education in the King County School District and subsequently graduated from Boy’s High School in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving his High School Diploma, he enlisted in the United States Military where he was ranked as a Sargent and categorized in as a Buffalo Soldier. Upon being honorable discharged, Stanley became a Chef in New York. He relocated to Palatka, FL with his mother and became employed with Florida Furniture for several years. After his employment with Florida Furniture, he was employed with Georgia Pacific for 20 years. Stanley enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his family. He loved attending the Movie Theatre and being with his grandchildren.

At 5:56 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2019 Stanley S. Nelson took a ride with the angels on their chariot from North Florida Regional Medical Center to his eternal resting place.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents, Robert Lee Nelson & Pearl Lee Williams; grandparents, Sandy Sr. & Carrie Offord.; brother, James Hogan; aunt, Minister Lillie Bell McCaskill, Odell McCaskill; uncles, Sandy Offord Jr., Calvin Offord, cousins, Melvin McCaskill, Larry McCaskill, & Edward “Butch” Offord.

He leaves to cherish his many memories: children, Jannia Braithwaite, Antonio Green, Reshine Nelson, Keasha Davis; grandchildren, Bryanna Braithwaite, Tamiah Braithwaite, Jemal Braithwaite, Reniya Nelson, Cadarryl Davis, De’Nari Sutton, Teona Henderson, Antonio Green Jr., Alia Green, Alana Green; aunt, Mary Smith - Offord; uncle, Bishop Elijah(Jaqualine) Offord, a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The viewing will be 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019 at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Palatka, FL, Rev. Terrence Chester, Pastor, Bishop Elijah Offord, eulogist. The Homegoing Celebration will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019.
