I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear.

Bishop Eugene Wiley

Entered into Eternal rest on July 23, 2024, at Immanuel Hospital Omaha, Nebraska. Born the tenth child October 12,1929 to Deacon George Hollis Wiley Jr. and Mother Lillie R. Wiley in rural Jenkins County outside of the city Millen Georgia. The son of a sharecropper Eugene grew and attended Jenkins County Training Center. Mother Lillie Wiley was known for stating that her desire was that her sons be preachers. Mother Wiley’s wish came true as most of her sons became great preachers paving the way for a legacy of preachers, singers, and church workers. Bishop Eugene would say, “We are the descendants of the Levites.

In 1942, the family left Millen, Georgia relocating to Philadelphia, Pa. Eugene attended Salisbury Jr High School in West Philadelphia. Later attending Overbrook High School. Education did not stop for Eugene as he wanted to gain a biblical foundation before going into the ministry, he enrolled and attended Enon Bible College in Columbus, Ohio

After completing Bible College, Eugene decided he wanted to see the world, so he joined the United States Army in 1950 based in Camp Pickett in Virginia. Eugene was transferred to Europe where he began working in surveillance. Eugene traveled around Europe until 1954 where he later received an honorable discharge from the Army. After being discharged from the Army; Eugene returned to Millen, Georgia where he met and later married Myrtis Joan McCloud in 1955.

After marriage and starting a family, Eugene attended Savannah State College majoring in Technical Science for Television and Radio Repair. Eugene graduated with honors and started his own business “Pretty Picture Radio and TV Repair”.

Eugene never forgot his foundation and the teachings of his parents. In 1966, Eugene relocated his family to New York and there rededicated his life to the LORD JESUS CHRIST and it was then that things began to change for him.

In New York Eugene was surrounded by family and friends who prayed and witnessed GOD’s hand on his life, ultimately fulfilling the wishes of his mother. Eugene joined the Mt Hebron Apostolic Church under the leadership of his brother Bishop George Hollis III Wiley and soon became Minister Wiley and later ordained Elder Eugene Wiley.

Elder Wiley was always known to be full of energy and to have a driving passion for the things of GOD, he began to blow the trombone and play a rub board, sometimes at the same time in praise unto the LORD. Elder Wiley was NEVER seen without his trombone, his washboard and his unique dance of praise. Elder Wiley was often imitated but NEVER duplicated. Elder Wiley was known for being a man who loves HIS GOD and praises GOD with all his heart.

While living in New York, Elder Wiley began working for Rolex Company where he helped to build and design conveyor belt systems that were used in airports. Elder Wiley proved to be an asset to the Rolex Company as he was gifted with his hands and could do anything he put his mind to.

Elder Wiley moved his family to Philadelphia, Pa and joined the Church of God in Christ under another one of his brothers, Bishop William Wiley. Elder Wiley traveled with his family EVERY weekend to Baltimore, Md where the church was located. Weekly services were held in Philadelphia, PA.

Elder Wiley was employed as an Electro Electric Technician at Broudy’s Supply Company until he retired and began assisting in the ministry in the various churches, he was blessed to be a part of. No matter where Elder Wiley served; Elder Wiley has proved to be a valuable asset to the ministry. Elder Wiley has consistently made himself available to family, friends and church members. Elder Wiley was often found praying or giving words of encouragement over the phone to those who needed it.

In August 2010 Elder Wiley met and married Mother Geraldine Parker. Elder Wiley and Geraldine shared 14 years of marriage and a practice of helping others while serving the LORD JESUS. Mother Geraldine’s children and grandchildren came to know Elder Wiley fondly as “Pop Pop”. Elder Wiley, a kind, loving family man, extended that love to his new family, especially Elder Frank Parker who took excellent care of his parents.

In 2018 Elder Eugene Wiley was elevated to the Bishopric as the Diocesan Bishop in the Apostolic Faith Fellowship International under Bishop Charles Johnson Presiding Bishop.

Known for his stylish dressing and for being a willing worker he could and would fill any capacity needed and often wore many hats in the church. Bishop Wiley was a man who loved to travel and would never hesitate to drive endless hours to be with family. A man dedicated to the LORD we truly are blessed to see this great blessing of the LORD who had lived 94 years. We scratched the surface in order to find a legacy of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE and we found a man and his worship who has touched and blessed so many.
