Ronald Jackson, affectionately known as “Ronnie” was born on October 13, 1957 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and was the son of Lillian Virginia and James “Jimmy” Jackson Sr. On November 24, 2022, God called His angel home. Ronnie attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was employed by C&S Construction and Virginia Carolina Paving until the time of his sickness. At an early age Ronnie accepted Christ and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to St. Level Baptist Church. Ronnie was a quite homebody who loved to watch Westerns and the older TV shows and occasionally going fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many functions. Papa was always there. He leaves to cherish loving memories: his devoted wife, Irene Jackson of Roxboro, NC; daughter, Stacey Drumwright (Jonathan); three grandchildren: Jalen, Maya and Nikolas Drumwright of Roxboro, NC; his mother, Virginia Jackson; five siblings: James Jackson Jr. (Christine), Mary Doughty (Jim), Kathleen Chew (Wesley), Debra Smith (Tyrone), and Patrice Sellars (Charles); one sister-in-law, Margaruite Darden; three brothers-in-law: William “Sonnie” Walker, Eugene “Monk” Walker, Jr. and Johnnie Darden; three uncles: Clarence (Rebecca), Tim and Barry; one aunt Shirley (Joe); and a vast number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to his father James “Jimmy” Jackson, Sr., Ronnie was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel “Sammie” Jackson.
