Al was a wonderful colleague within the College of the Arts... and whenever I had an advisee in Mass Media who showed any true promise as a videographer I insisted they appeal for special permission to enroll in Al's photography classes in order to "train" their EYE!! He was a ninja master of composition! I will miss him forever.
Al was a good friend and colleague. He was not only a great artist who loved doing what he did best, but also one of kindest people you could meet. I will never forget his grin when he devoured the lop cheung at my home. I am lucky to have met him and Chris. Lai Orenduff
I was very fortunate having Al Park as my professor for several graphic design and photography classes while attending Valdosta State College in the late 1980's. I also had the privilege to work with him as a colleague in the VSU Department of Art for nearly 15 years, from 1997-2013. He was a wonderful teacher, an incredible multi-talented artist, and a quintessential craftsman. I'm so very thankful for all the invaluable skills and knowledge I gained under his tutelage and mentorship over the years. I'll always remember Al and will miss his wonderful sense of humor. I offer my deepest condolences to his wife, Chris, and to all his family and friends.
Sincerely,
Richard Peterman
Al will always remain in my heart. He was my advisor and professor from 1985-1989. Although enduring many of his short jokes, he was by far my most favorite teacher. He had a big heart and was one of the most caring and supportive professors during life's struggles. Chris, I am so sorry for your loss. --Rosemary Sirmans
Chris... Our condolences and sympathy on your loss. Prayers for comfort and peace. From your Auge cousins ... Joe, Mark, Mike and Deb
I had the great pleasure and joy of working with Al in the College of Arts faculty... yes, competing departments... but complimentary since I was able to advise many of my students in Mass Media to take his photography courses in order to "train their eye"... he was a master of instructing framing, composition, and focus! He was also a marvelous colleague. Too many wonderful moments in the halls, at events, on-line and over the phone to count... God Speed Al!

Al was my graphics teacher and friend at East Tennessee State University in the late 1970s. He required high standards and provided quiet support when needed. I am grateful I knew him. Susan Gillespie
