Harold D. Simmons
Harold Was born in Adel, Georgia. The first born of the young couple Willie H. Simmons Jr. and Annie Mack Simmons. He grew up In a Church going family, where he was taught: always tell the truth and the value of honest work, which no doubt gave him the impetus to be a model student as he matriculated the Valdosta, Ga. Secondary school system: Magnolia Elementary Street School, Lomax Junior High School, Pinevale High School, one year at Washington High School Quitman, Ga. and back to Pinevale High to garner his diploma.
Now Harold liked people in general and often found humor in their various oddities and peculiarities but he loved kin folk, and we loved him. He was a thoughtful brother, kind hearted son and devoted father. Harold was a man of his word, so characteristic of values he inherited from generations of Simmons.
Harold went into Army once he graduated high school, he served in Thailand, there he worked in the motor pool. It was their he really developed is passion for vehicles. Everyone that new him over the years new he love to make a vehicle shine, He always said you want to be able to see yourself on the hood.
He is preceded in death by parents, a baby sister and a brother William Wayne Simmons. Harold leaves behind: Two sons; Harold Simmons Jr. Wayne Simmons and Three daughters; Trina Moses, Taiwan Simmons, Tazzy Guilford. Grand Children: Bernard Moses, Jamarquis Reeves, Izaal Simmons, Mary Peterson, Wayne Simmons Jr. Tor Lumpkin Jr. Wayneisha Simmons, Tatoria LumpkinsDaniel Simmons. Great Grands: Keshaun Johnson, Imajanae Moses, Allyah Moses, Aiden Moses, Nevaen Moses, Daniel Flanders Jr., Wayne Simmons iii, Amara Mais; Parents: (Late) Annie M Simmons (Late ) Willie H. Simmons Jr; Grandparents: (Late ) Willie H. Simmons Sr & Mamie Simmons (Late) Bud Palmer& Charlie Mae Palmer; Sisters: Ginger K. Simmons Parker ,Kandice Warner, Tonya; Brothers: Phillips G Simmons, Dannie E. Simmons, Michael Simmons (Carolyn), Mark Simmons (Late - Dorothy) , Kevnor; Aunts: Laura Towns, Maxine Clark, Jennette Simmons; Uncles: Charles Simmons, Julius Clark; Host of loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; (Devoted Friends: Debra Pendleton, her father Mr. P. and her son also special thanks to Miss Eddie Mae Scott.)
Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Harold D. Simmons will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Morven City Auditorium, Morven, Georgia; Burial was in Pineview Cemetery.
Family Visitation: Friday, February 18, 2022 from 6:00-7:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel.
