Mr. Willie C. Alston, age 90, departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2022 in Melville, New York. Funeral services for Mr. Alston will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Boyd & Royster Funeral Service 149 Holland Bland Rd. Warrenton, North Carolina.

Willie Clarence Alston, son of the late George and Cora Alston was born on July 31st, 1932 in Franklin County, North Carolina. He was raised alongside his siblings in Warren County, North Carolina, where he attended public school.

Willie served in the United States Army, followed by 27 years of service as a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of New York City. Willie moved to New York City and met his wife, Christine through the Youth Fellowship program at Cornerstone Baptist Church. They were married in 1965. They had one child together, the late Lane Alston. Throughout his four decades of retirement, Willie was incredibly active in his community: award winning Super Senior bowler, skilled land steward, kind and helpful neighbor.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his wife of 57 years, Christine Alston of Laurelton, NY; one sister, Margaret Brishbon of Brooklyn, NY; one grandchild, Ngozi Alston of New Jersey; a host several loving nieces and nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbors.
