Mr. Melvin Phillips age 48, of Norlina, North Carolina departed this life on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in Norlina, North Carolina.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 1:00pm at United Solid Rock Faith Ministries, 1020 US Highway 158 Business West, Norlina, NC 27563. Bishop Moore H. Bynum will officiate and burial will follow in the United Solid Rock Memorial Gardens.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Melvin Clincy, one daughter, Melayshia Phillips; his fiancé and daughter, Jennifer Tribble and Maya Bond; his Godmother, Linda Terry (Leon); three aunts, Theresa Phillips, Rosemary Phillips, Carolyn Phillips, and Marilyn Phillips; three uncles, Curtis Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips, and Preston Phillips, Jr. along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
There will be no public viewing.
The Homegoing Celebration will be streamed live via the Boyd Royster facebook page at the start of service.

I wish I had more time with Dad it's been so long since we talked... I have a son now and he look just like us... My heart hurts cause you didn't get a chance to meet him, I know if you did you would've probably still be here cause you would've wanted that time... I just want you to know that I love you no matter what and you will always be my Dad... PS your nephew up there waiting... it's been a year now... Unc still don't no how to take it but 1 day at a time... Now you gone and I didn't even know... Til next time Dad I love you.....
