To the family words can't express how sorry we are for this profound loss. Coach Marks was a wonderful person inside and out. He had a amazing smile and laugh. Mr. Coach Marks was such an integral part of our high School years. He was a great coach, leader, teacher, role model, and father figure to so many. When I tried out for track I told him I couldn't do it and he said yes you can and will. I tried out and had success with it because of Coach Marks. The face of Bluestone High School for many many students was Coach Marks. He will be truly missed and in the hearts of so many of us. He made such a positive impact during that time. I will never forget his kindness and leadership. Not many people are able to touch so many lives on this earth but he did just that. The family of Coach Marks, right now your loss is so fresh it may be difficult for y'all to image that this pain will ever go away. In time the blessing of Gods unfailing grace will soften the hurt that y'all are feeling and bring your heart the peace, comfort, and hope that it needs to heal. When my kids was young playing sports he would give them a ride back to Boydton and drop them off at melody manor by the phone booth because I worked there part time .
