Segreant Major James Alston, Jr age 85 of Norlina, North Carolina departed this life on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Maria Parham Health in Henderson, North Carolina.

Private Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Boyd & Royster Funeral Services in Warrenton, North Carolina.

My life will be celebrated by nephews John Earl Alston, Jr., James Alston, Edward Alston, Jerome Alston, Jimmie Lee Alston, Brian Henderson, Ricky Hunter (Vicky), and Gregory Hunter Sr.; Nieces Barbara Ann Buchanan, Mary Carolyn Harris, Patricia "Shug" Shaw (David), Benita Henderson, and Shirley Hunter; Brother-in-Law Benjamin Henderson, and over 100 other great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends, associates and the community at-large from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Boyd & Royster Funeral Service. There will be a viewing on Saturday, July 17, 2021 starting at 10am until service .

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the homegoing service will be limited to family only but they invited friends and relatives to join the homegoing services via Facebook Live on the BOYD ROYSTER Facebook page.
