Obituary For Mr. Jerry Gaines

A beloved Son, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend, Jerry Gaines Jr left this world at the age of 51, on April 13, 2023.

Born in Panama City Florida, on October 17,1971 to Jerry and Betty (Paterson) Gaines. Jerry was raised in a Christian home where Christ, was the foundation and instilled in him by his parents.

He attended Bay County Public School System.

Jerry was a lover of poetry and frequently expressed himself through spoken word, he often referenced himself as “Believe Real.” Jerry had an amazing personality, he would brighten up any situation with a joke, poem or his laughter. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Bridgette (Gaines) Burrough and grandparents Henry & Estelle Gaines and Alma & Charlie Patterson.

He leaves his cherish memories with his survived daughter, Covina Gaines; parents, Jerry and Betty Gaines; brother, Johnny Pickett; and Jammie Gaines (Tabora); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Battle Mortuary Chapel located at 1123 Martin Luther King Boulevard Panama City, Fl.

Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Panama City with the caring staff of Battle Mortuary directing.

A public viewing will be held on Friday April 21, 2023 at Battle Mortuary from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
