Our beloved father, brother and friend Mark Wright has passed from our presence to the presence of God.
Though we mourn and miss him, we know that he is free of the pain and turmoil of this earth and has found the peace of everlasting life with our Father God.
Mark was born in Iosco, Michigan. He spent the first 18 years of his life with his parents and siblings as they traveled America and Iceland as our father McCoy “Mickey” Wright (Frances) served in the USAF.
Mark loved playing baseball, camping, fishing, hunting, riding dirt bikes and exploring the Gulf of Mexico in the Panama City area until he joined the USAF as a member of the Red Horse Squadron in 1976 - 1980.
As a Red Horse lineman Mark assisted in building landing strips across the world and served America faithfully until 1980.
After Mark left his service in the USAF he owned a bicycle shop in Mariana, FL; worked for Walmart for several years; then became a maintenance repairman for HUD in Panama City.
After leaving HUD, Mark spent several years donating his time to community service, most notably to a Christian-based addictions treatment center in Bay County.
He is survived by his son Matthew “Matt” Wright (FL), his brother Dean Wright (Beth) (SC) and his sisters Lynne Svoboda (David) (MI); and Carolyn Prince (Barry) (FL); as well as many nieces and nephews living across the USA.
Mark’s ironic sense of humor, his devotion to and love for his family and his open, gentle heart will be remembered by friends and family for many years.
The service will be private, but friends and family may make donations to any Veteran’s charity in Mark’s name.
