Christine Fulmore McCoy was born on March 7, 1949 in Dillon County, South Carolina. She was affectionally known as “Teenie.” After a courageous battle with cancer, the Lord called her home to gain her wings on Monday, November 21, 2022. Christine was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Maggie Smith Fulmore.
Christine attended Dillon County Public School System. At the age of 14, she developed a love of photography. She enjoyed capturing memorable moments through her lens. She was a graduate of the illustrious class of 1967 with high honors from Gordon High School. After high school, she attended Morris College Sumter Campus in Sumter, SC. She was a devoted member of Bowling Green United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir, usher board, and served as a dedicated member of the United Methodist Women. She retired from McCleod Medical Center/Dillon after faithfully serving for 36 years as a nurse tech. She thoroughly enjoyed baking, serving others with her time, and using her caregiving skills to help others. At the South Carolina United Methodist Annual Conference, she was able to continue her love for serving, by sending care packages to Africa for the youth.
Christine was preceded in death by her first-born grandson, Adam Seth Mitchell and brother-in- law David E. Leslie; sisters Lillie Fulmore and Francis Fulmore Hamer; two brothers Lee Chester Fulmore and William Fulmore Jr.
Christine leaves to cherish her beautiful memories and forever loved by her daughter, Latha A. Mitchell (Dr. Adam Mitchell, III) and grandson, Gabriel Z. Mitchell of Milledgeville, GA. A brother: Glen (Rose Mary) Fulmore of Dillon, SC; sisters Maggie L. Fulmore of Brooklyn, NY, Evelyn L. Blue of High Point, NC, Mary E. Leslie, Nora C.
