Before he retired to Sellers, S.C., Bill "The Big Bruiser" lived in Jamaica, NY. Bill and I attended the Queens Vet Center and were in the same PTSD group for nearly 10 years. He and I were both Vietnam Vets, me in the Army, and Bill in the Marines. I visited Bill in Sellers, S.C. twice, enjoying my short stays with the family, especially his little ground children, who today, are adults. Bill and I talked many times on the phone. I will miss him very much. My condolences to his wife Mary, and the family. Sincerely, Pierre Grace
Big Bruiser, it is not easy to express in words how one feels at the passing of a friend and brother Marine. Who would have thought that when our lives became intertwined in Viet Nam that we would become life-long friends back in the "real world". But such did happen, and we had many laughs over these many years. I am saddened by your passing and hope that one day, God willing, we will have the pleasure of enjoying each other's company again. I thank you for your friendship, and I thank you for being a part of the Delta 2 Marine family. To Mary, I wish to thank you for taking care of my Marine who became your Marine. You were the shining star in Big Bruiser's eyes and his family was the soul of his heart. To you Mary and all the Garner family I wish to extend my deepest condolences. I pray God will grant you and the Garner family the strength and comfort needed during this time of sorrow. Your friend Ray Brown, Sgt USMC (Ret)
