Viewing of Mr. Joe Townsend will be Thursday, June 15th, 2023, from 1:00PM-5:00PM. (Riverdale)
Funeral Service for Mr. Joe Townsend will be Friday, June 16th, 2023, at St. Peter's Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00PM.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Joe Henry McNeil Townsend was born on April 9th, 1951, in Lake View, SC to Joseph McNeil and Francis Townsend. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at his home. He attended the public schools of Lake View, SC and while in high school he played his favorite sport, football. After finishing high school in 1969, he worked in different places including Davis of Dillon.
He was saved and baptized and was a faithful member of St. Peter's Pentecostal Holiness Church until his health failed him.
He loved his wife and family and Bishop McRae and church family. Every year he looked forward to working in his garden until his health failed. His favorite football team was the Cleveland Browns. He loved watching different game shows and crime investigation shows.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his wife, Mae and children Latonya Gibson of Anchorage, AK, Anthony (Lashonda) McNeil of Dillon, SC, and Temeka (Robert) Dudley of Hartsville, SC. He has two brothers and one sister and a special cousin Ann Johnson. Sisters in laws, Margaret and Brenda Gibson of Philadelphia, PA, Roslyn Gibson of Lake View, SC and Shirley Gibson of Hinesville, GA. Brother in laws Lynn Gibson of Dillon, SC, Kenny (Rosalyn) Gibson of Richmond, VA, and Jeffery (Yolanda) Gibson of Dillon, SC. Fifteen grandchildren, Raheem, Zaquan, LaQuasia, Antasia, Malcolm, SaNasia, Courtier, Kamarah, Sybria, Oniqwa, RaNaeja, Alaysia, Zavian, Demetria, Tyleek, and Terrell. And seventeen great grandchildren.
