I am sitting here just stunned, numb and so many emotions. My heart hurts...I was traveling today and put in his cd that I purchased at many of his performances over the last two years of living in Myrtle Beach. I had no idea Ervin had passed until I received a call from a friend who works at the Asher Theatre. And, I was done for this day. I had the awesome opportunity to meet him, his lovely wife and daughter at many performances at the Asher. I never had friends to visit in Myrtle Beach without taking them to the Motown Revue, at the Asher. I did not know him personally but always supported his wonderful "gift" of songs. He was truly a gifted singer and a very warm person who always seemed very graceful that his audience enjoyed his performance and impersonation of "Otis Redding!" There will never be another voice to replace him.

Condolences and prayer to his lovely wife, family, friends, his Asher Theater family and everyone who knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed!🙏🏽🙏🏽🥲

I'm so glad to have had the privilege of co-hosting on Real Talk w/Erv (on FB) & of meeting Erv back in 2012. He was truly one of a kind & he is surely going to be missed . I pray that all of his family, friends & other loved ones have the peace that passes all understanding! God bless! 💜🙏🏽💐

I forgot to put my name to the story I shared about Ervin. I shared the one regarding the time he called me when my daughter passed. My name is Sander Brown Oneal. He called me Sis and I indeed called him my brother. And that he was to me. We will all miss him. His smile laughter love jokes performing and living life to the fullest. No Words cannot express how I am feeling. Ervin was so special to so many. When my daughter died he called to check on me. We talked. We cried. He prayed for me. Just what I had needed at that time. He was a caring and loving person. Knew how to make you smile and laugh. His talents he shared with us all. Great singing. Great jokes. Just a ray of sunshine to brighten your day. He will be greatly missed but NEVER forgotten. To the family and friends I send love,hugs and prayers to you all. May God wrap His loving around us all giving us peace strength and comfort. Although I only knew Ervin through his performances I found him to be a very loving and caring man who was the ultimate professional and ideal role model. I consider it an honor to have met and worked with him. His talent, knowledge, experience, and zest for life will be missed.
