Rodney Anthony Green was born at Harlem Hospital on March 21, 1965 to Robert and Gloria Green.
Rodney grew up in Harlem in the Polo Grounds Houses and attended Norman Thomas High School. After graduating, Rodney worked in construction until 1990, when he joined the New York City Transit Authority. For over 30 years Rodney worked as a station agent for the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA); where he devoted countless hours in Public Service assisting his community.
Rodney was a very hard-working man with a great sense of humor. He was known for his jokes and always made everyone around him laugh. He was also a loving and devoted father and would do anything he could to help others. He was extremely caring and will be missed by all.
Rodney was predeceased by his father, Robert E. Green Sr; brother, Johnnie Lemon Jr; and his sister, Cheryl Williams.
Rodney is survived by his mother, Gloria Green; brothers, Kevin Delima and Robert E. Green, Jr.; his daughter, Kandice Simmons; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long-time friends.
