Nicole Lisa Jenkins Sunrise July 24th, 1965 - Sunset September 26th, 2022 Nicole Lisa Jenkins (affectionately known as “Nikki”) was the youngest daughter to Thomas Jenkins and Millie Joyner. Nicole was born on July 24th, 1965. She and her siblings were the pride and joy of their parents and extended family. Nicole was born in New York City where she attended P.S. 188 on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She was a bright student and excelled in her class. At the age of seven, her family moved to Hollis Queens New York, with little Nicole in tow. Nikki then attended P.S. 35 and continued her education through I.S. 238, eventually graduating from Martin Van Buren High School in 1983. In Nicole’s pursuit of higher learning, she attended York College, where she met and married the love of her life, Daniel Pabon. Out of their matrimonial union, a beautiful daughter was born to them named, Kennedy Morgan Jenkins who was the heart of their hearts, and the pride and joy of their lives. Nicole worked for the City of New York as a clerk for ACS, (Agency for Children Services). She also worked as a community care giver where she tended to the needs of the elderly, and the disabled. Nicole had many physical health challenges in her life. As a result, her cousin Kim Salisbury stepped in to help raise her daughter, and to be a second mother to care for Kennedy’s day to day necessities. Nikki had a sharp sense of humor, and she loved watching the Food Network shows because cooking was her love language. She loved learning about new recipes and making them for her family, and they loved to eat her cooking. Sadly, Nicole departed this life on September 26, 2022, at the age of 57 at Mt. Sinai Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Nicole is survived by her husband and daughter, her sisters Lorraine Joyner, Ingrid Jenkins, and Venus Woodall, Edward Jones, Todd Jones, Milira Jones, and David Jones. She has joined her siblings, Marie Lee Jenkins, Barbara Jones, and Carletta Joyner (affectionately known as Chicky), (deceased nephews): Wayne Hollington, Thomas Hollington, and Kevin Tyson). She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Gilbert Hollington, Reynelle Hollington, William Hollington, Bridgette Hollington, Yvette Hollington, Sherry Hollington, and Antoine Knox, Aaron Ambrose, Brandon Woodall, Brice Woodall, Taylor Jenkins, and Breyonna Woodall, with a host of grand, and great-grand nieces and nephews. Also, Nikki will be missed by her cousins, Rose Knox, Annette Lombardo George Lombardo, Reginald Swinson, Kim Stowers, Octavia Reid, and Opal Bullock, along with many other cousins too numerous to mention. In Nikki’s final days, she expressed how much she loved the LORD and her family. “So, with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” John 16:22.
