Caine Green, lovingly known as “Mickey,” was the firstborn of four children, Winnona (deceased), Sandra Green (living), and Leila Green (living), to the late Caine Green and Rosa Lee Green on November 15th, 1959, at Harlem Hospital, in New York City.
Mickey attended his early schooling at P.S. 90 Elementary and I.S. Junior High School and then went on to graduate from John F. Kennedy High School. From a very young age, Mickey was into auto mechanics, cars, and transportation operations. He got his first job as a super/custodian in a residential building. He later got a job working in a boiler room through the connections of his father and neighborhood friends. His last job was under the books construction, where he built the building on 146 St and 7th Ave in 2001, where the chicken spot is at Legends and the Jamaican spot. Mickey always made sure to take care of his sisters no matter what, as he loved them dearly and was the one to get everyone ready for school, to eat, and to travel safely.
He later went on to married the love of his life, Nancy Crippen and from this union brought one loving child, Caine Green III. Mickey cherished and was proud to be an uncle and love all his nieces and nephews, but his most proudest title is being a father, a Father who undeniably loved his son “C” aka CMG aka Lil Mickey, who he did everything for and will always be his purpose. In 2016 and 2017 Mickey attended and graduated school for culinary on Randals Island. He then forever called himself the chefs of the future. He also attended other schools and programs which he excelled and succeeded from. The remainder and majority of his adult life he became and remain self employed, self reliant and independent all from the motivation and love he had for his son, his self and his family, always staying with money in his pocket.
Mickey always smiled laughed and most of all joked because he learned to be the example of not letting the world, nor anyone take away his humor, his joy and his laughter. He cherished life and always had the quote, to “live long and prosper no matter what time we are given, live it for a long time not a short time”.
Mickey leaves behind to cherish his memory; his son Caine Green III, sisters Sandra Green of The Bronx, NY, Lelia Green of The Bronx, NY; brother Eddie Scott of Akin, GA, a host of nieces, and nephews; Iroquois Gunther, Elijah Green, Branson Gunther, Samantha Gunther, Toya Green, Shawn Green, Dayday Green, Chandelin Green-Floyd, Shannon Green-Floyd, Tosha Green-Floyd, Malik Green-Floyd, Rayshawn Green, Dennis Scott, Anika Scott, Tammy Scott, Travis Scott, relatives and friends.
