And I forgot t leave my name... Melonie was reserved and smart. She handled business quietley and with her eyes said so much more than what she spoke. I remember her helping my dad with typing needs and also how she would look out for the projects I worked on at PBS-NC with her. I appreciated Melonie and always thought she was so beautiful--and her girls too. We will miss her here. Wishing God's comfort to her family and loved ones. - Deborah Holt Noel

My precious baby sister was more than my lil tweety bird/babydoll. She was the most beautiful, smart, determined woman I know. I have so many memories that flood my thoughts and right now as the " tears are like rain running down my face"I recall even more. She was tenacious and vibrant even as a little girl. I see her on her tricycle with her yellow pillow going down Wintergreen and then- where did she go? It was an all out neighborhood search. She had decided to find a good place to ride and had gotten up a steep hill and made her way to the circle on Wise Place. We still don't know to this day how those little legs were able to paddle that far. She was strong as a baby and it was always a signature of hers. You could count on her to say what she means and mean what she say, even if she had to be stubborn in order to let you know she was firm. That is what I think kept her grounded and served her well as she grew into an advanced scholar, a professional, a friend, mom, grandmother "ME ME",an incredible aunt and whatever she put her mind to. She was never a flamboyant, overly gregarious person. She had her close circle of friends and even if you was hanging out with her she was fun but more likely not interacting with just whoever. I remember the looks she would give any guy that was trying to ask her to dance- let's just say he didn't ask again! LOL I think I am one that could actually make her laugh out loud! That is what I remember most. We could see the same thing and bust into laughter knowing what the other was thinking. My sister. She taught me a lot of things even though I was older that I will always remember but a most beautiful thing we always had between us is she would let me be me and I let her be her and thats a perfect bond of union.I love my sister, I always will!! (4.Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up,5. does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
