Obituary For Elizabeth T. Bennett

Elizabeth T. Bennett (Betty, Mom and Bmom) passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Friday October 13th, 2023.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Claude H. Bennett Sr. and daughter-in-law, Jean Hale-Bennett. She retired from Sperry Corporation and was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.

She was an excellent seamstress and cook which she enjoyed doing for her family for many years. Often times she could be found giving aide to both domesticated and wild injured animals. Betty also enjoyed chatting over the years with the folks that stopped to buy the tomatoes she and her husband grew. When at Emerald Isle, she enjoyed surf fishing, cooking fresh seafood, going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her sons; C.H. Bennett, Jr. (Wanda), Tony Ray Bennett; granddaughter, Andrea Bennett Clark (Matt); Great-grand children, Kaitlyn Nieves, Avery Nieves, Levi Clark, Emmalee Clark; sisters-in-law-, LaVerne Burch, Jean Carver; and many nieces and nephews.

The family is extremely grateful for special neighbors and for other special people who were instrumental in assisting with Betty's care. In addition the family is very appreciative of the support and loving care of the Duke Hospice Team.
