Ms. Doris Almond Goode 70, of Vienna GA entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 22, 2024.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Almond Goode 70, of Vienna GA will be held Thursday May 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dooly County High School Gymnasium , Vienna GA. Interment in the Vienna City Cemetery Vienna.
Mrs. Doris Almond Goode was born on
January 27, 1954, in Vienna, Dooly County,
GA, to the parentage of the late Mr. Alter Lee
Almond, Jr., and Mrs. Georgia Mae Kingdom
Almond.
She answered the call of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
At an early age, she joined the Holly Grove
Missionary Baptist Church of Unadilla, GA.
As a member, she was active with the Women’s
Missionary Society.
She was educated in the Dooly County public school system. She graduated in 1972 from the Vienna High and Industrial School. She went on to attend college in Atlanta, GA, at the Morris Draughon’s School of Business where she earned an Associates Degree. She later received her cosmetology license after relocating to Bakersfield, CA, where she owned and operated several nail salons.
Mrs. Doris Goode was a very sweet soul. She was kind, caring, and willing to help anyone at anytime. She enjoyed impacting the lives of the children. Early on, she worked as a preschool paraprofessional with the Dooly County school system. Once she moved to California, she continued to impact children’s lives
at the LaPetit Academy where she worked as a teacher while she studied to obtain her cosmetology degree. After returning home in 2003, she resumed her passion of impacting children’s lives as a kindergarten paraprofessional until she retired in 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel B. Goode; brother, Douglas R. Almond; parents, Mr. Alter Lee Almond, Jr., and Mrs. Georgia Mae Kingdom Almond; and her pampered pooch, Coco
Denard Goode.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her three beautiful daughters, Antavia James of Vienna, GA, Kebra Dewdney (Wendell) of Southfield, MI, and Keana Floyd (Lawrence) of Jacksonville, FL; four loving brothers, Randall Almond (Valeria) of Vienna, GA, Frankie Almond, Sr., (Barbara) of Vienna, GA,
Eddie Almond, Sr., (Shelia) of Vienna, GA, and George Almond, Sr., of Vienna, GA; one sweet special sister, Debra Hollis (Carlton) of Albany, GA; three adorable granddaughters, Cierra James of
Vienna, GA, and Kelaia and Kalyssa Dewdney of Southfield, MI; two endearing goddaughters, Miya Hall of Michigan and niece Kristin Hollis of Albany, GA; special cousin, “Cuttin Anne Eva Wallace;” devoted and committed aunt, Ethel Lee Ross; other
aunts and uncles, Bobbie Jean King (Albert Sr.), Sara Sutton, Elder Roosevelt Kingdom, Sr., (Rhoda) and Sammie Lee Kingdom; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many
sorrowing friends.

Doris, Gail Hawkins, and I left home a week after high school graduation heading to Atlanta in 1972. We had had fun and stuck together for many years until we all followed our own paths. I saw my friend very seldom after she returned home, but she's always been in my heart. I was shocked to see she had passed away today! My condolences go out to all her children and family members. I pray that comfort from above will give us all strength needed at this sad time.
