Mr. Joseph “Smokey” Turner 77, of Byromville GA entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 21, 2024.

Funeral Services for Mr. Joseph ''Smokey'' Turner 77, of Byromville GA will be held Saturday July 27, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Byromville GA. Interment in Church Cemetery Byromville, GA.

Mr. Joseph Turner, affectionately known by family and friends as “JT”, was born March 3rd., 1947, to the late Jay and Addie (Walker) Turner.

Spending time with his family and friends brought joy to him. He also loved a great western. For many years, JT worked for the West and Salibas family. He was also employed with Southern Frozen Foods and Tyson Foods.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jay and Addie (Walker Turner) six siblings, Steve, Claude, Ernest, Ethel Lee, Addie Mae and Johnnie B and son, Stanley.

On July 21st., JT departed his earthly home for eternal rest. He leaves for remembrance six children, Rickey Turner of Gainesville, Ga. ; Stephanie Brown and Helena Brown of Buford, Ga.; Shaquita Hayes and Yolanda Barron of Atlanta Ga.; Martin LaQuincy Green of Montezuma, Ga.; and Carla Barron (Stepdaughter) of Atlanta, Ga.; One brother, Roy Sammie (Maggie) Turner of Atlanta Ga; and one sister, Bertha Mae Turner of Byromville Ga. Nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin, Helen (Odell) Johnson of New York, NY; great neighbors and a host of friends.
