Growing up, we knew her as Julie Harris, our neighbor and friend. My earliest memories of Julie take me back to growing up on Shady Grove Road in Goodman, Mississippi. She and her siblings often hung out with me and my siblings over many years - mainly the 1980s and 1990s. She had a quiet, pleasant, and sunny disposition, giving you a smile and a soft voice when she spoke. She was nice to me and all of the younger kids, but also making sure we did the right thing; she was never mean or unpleasant to be around. Though I didn't have many interactions with her after leaving Mississippi, I can't help but to believe that she didn't change. And I hope she didn't as that's how we want to remember her - quiet, pleasant, and a good example for her kids and siblings. - Archie Ellis
