Ft. Lauderdale - Lester A. James, age 55, son of the late Essie Mae Gilchrist, A Native of Gainesville, Florida who lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Owner of James Transportation Company, suddenly left us following a brief illness on Monday, February 24, 2014, in Fort Lauderdale.

The Homegoing Celebration will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 8, 2014, at JAMES C. BOYD FUNERAL HOME Chapel - And the Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens (both of Fort Lauderdale, FL).

Those left to cherish his memory are: wife - Edna Counts James of Fort Lauderdale, FL; children - Jeffery Gordon (& Karen) of Winter Garden, FL, Mariesa Wilson (& Lester) of Orlando, FL and Marcus Gordon (& Cordelia) of Gainesville, FL; 7 grandchildren; sisters - Mary Singleton (& Clarence) and Belinda Fox of Gainesville, FL (Minister Murry Gilchrist Bowens preceded him in death); brothers - Lewis James of Fort Lauderdale, FL (George Gilchrist, Glenn Gilchrist and Adolph Gilchrist preceded him in death); aunts & uncles; nieces & nephews; cousins; & friends.
