Mr. James "J L" Luther Lane

James “JL” Luther Lane was born on April 27, 1948 to the late Gordon and Minnie Lue Lane. He entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

JL worked for the railroad industry for thirty-one years before retiring. He lived to ride his Harley creating many loving memories with family and friends. He held the position as President of the Seven Brothers Bikers Club.

JL loved spending time with his family often over meals he had prepared. He fully embraced his country heritage and mesmerized people’s sense all over the state with his whole hog roasting, smoking, grilling abilities. Not only would JL provide you with a full belly, but lots of laughs with his story telling including his well known catch phrase like “main thing don’t panic!”

JL was preceded in death in addition to his parents, Janie Mae Colvin, Curlie Mae Lane, Gordon Lane Jr., Neil Oliver Lane, Larry Darnell Lane, Randy Lee Lane and Andrew Dunham.

JL leaves to cherish precious memories ~ one son: Roderic Lane of Greenville, SC; two daughters: Koshin Lane of Greenville, SC and Jylisa Lane of Spartanburg, SC; ten grandchildren; his sisters and brothers: Minnie Ellerbe of Levittown, PA, Gerald (Janet) Lane of Greenville, SC, Thad (Shirley) Lane of Dillon, SC, Michael (Jan) Lane of Greenville, SC, Darlene (James) Murphy of Dillon, SC, Barbara (Zyia) Lane of Levittown, PA, Priscilla MaRae of Bennettsville, SC, James (Maggie) Dunham of Hamer, SC, Dollie Dunham, Denna Campbell, Shirley Covington, Connie Johnson, Bernice Dunham all of Dillon, SC; two aunts: Debby Bethea of Atlanta, GA, Margaret Barr of Latta, SC, Velivis Bethea; his live-in four-legged companion: Angel Blue Lane of the home and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
