Obituary For Johnnie Mac Arthur Thompson

Mr. Johnnie M. Thompson, 61, died September 18, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at New Jerusalem Church in Walnut Cove. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Johnnie was born in Sumter, SC on March 27, 1958, to the late Johnnie Thompson and Martha Thompson Smith. Mr. Thompson departed this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. He received his formal education at Ebeneezer in Sumter, SC and Central High School in Bridgeport, CT. He was employed at Camco Manufacturing in Greensboro, NC. He was also preceded by his brother, Stanley Lee Thompson and his son, Wendell Thompson. Mr. Thompson leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter; Tamika Lawson Myers of Sumter, SC, stepfather; Jesse Smith of NC, three brothers; David D. Thompson of Bridgeport, CT, James E. Thompson of High Point, NC, Bishop Michael G. Thompson (Sandy) of Walnut Cove, NC, two sisters; Theresa Thompson Crosdale and Patricia Thompson Reid of Biridgeport, CT, four aunts; Maggie Gathers, Ruthell Ellerbe (Frank) of Bridgport, CT, Roseanna Thompson of Detroit, MI, Hester Thompson of Williamsburg, VA, uncle; Elder John W. Wright (Bessie) of Sumter, SC, three grandsons, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter, step sisters, step brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins family and friends.
