Obituary For Ophelia Jackson

CHENEYVILLE- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at First Edgefield Baptist Church in Cheneyville, LA for Mrs. Ophelia Jackson, 86, who entered rest on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in Marksville, LA. Interment will be in the church’s cemetery.

Bishop Melvin D. Jackson will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Jackson’s memories are being cherished by: her two daughters, Elizabeth Hayward (Rayford) of Bunkie, LA and Ruthie Lee Jackson of San Francisco, CA; one brother, Freddie Gardner (Johnnie Faye) of St. Maurice, LA; four grandchildren, Rayford Hayward, Jr (Yoshika), Patrick Hayward, Alex Hayward (Valerie) and Brittney Recard (Jacoby); five great grandchildren, Alexis Washington, Vanity Hayward, Christopher Hayward, Nicholas Hayward, and Victor Hayward; two great-great grandchildren, Darious Latimore, Jr and Tyson Porter; a special caregiver, Linda Chambers; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Ophelia is preceded in death by: her husband, Albert Jackson; her parents, Ezikel and Athlee Sykes Hall; a step-father, Reese Gardner; two brothers, Robert Powell and Jack Hall; and one sister, Louise Snead.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at First Edgefield Baptist Church.
