Obituary For Betty J. Banyard

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., New Galilean M.B. Church, 3830 Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.

Betty Jo Banyard was born April 14, 1935 in Lena, Mississippi to Johnnie and Emma Armon. In 1953, she married Charles Banyard and she had eight children. Betty loved the word of God, to dance, and to help others. Her giving spirit, warm smile, and angelic singing voice will truly be missed.

She worked at the Veteran Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as well in Jackson, Mississippi where she retired. She was a volunteered at the Smith Robertson Community Center.

She is survived by her sister Roxie Inez Norwood and Erta Faye Logan of Jackson, MS. Her seven children, a daughter, Barbara Gethers of Philadelphia, PA, sons, Charles, Kenneth (Janice), Roger, Robert, Cedric and Terrance Banyard all of Milwaukee, WI, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Banyard, daughter, Patricia Banyard, sisters; Ernestine Lyle, Jeovannah Rawls, Blanche Thompson, Hattie Handy; brothers; Lagrone, Ertis, Leo, Alfred and Hoye Armon and a son-in-law; Gary Gethers.

The family will like to give a special thanks to all the caregivers, who assisted with Betty's care, Ms. Tracey and the Plainview Assistant Living Staff as well as her two Hospice Care nurses from Hospice Ministries, Patricia Banks"RN" and Lashonda Haymon "CNA" They all contributed in ensuring Betty was not only well taken care of but comfortable in her final days.
