Mr. David H. Snelling transitioned to be with the Lord on August 11, 2019 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was the youngest of thirteen children born to the late Luray and Martin Luther Snelling.
Mr. Snelling enlisted in the United States Army and served from February 11, 1955 - January 30, 1958. He earned the rank of Private First Class and received an Honorable Discharged.
At an early age, Mr. Snelling joined New Home Baptist Church in Barnwell, South Carolina and later joined the Greater Faith Baptist Church, of Orangeburg, South Carolina. David had a passion for cooking/grilling. He could make the best barbeque sauce and ribs that would have you licking all ten fingers. He also served as the "chef on duty" for tailgating events during South Carolina State University homecoming games, which included the annual "Track Attack" outreach ministry to save souls.
Mr. Snelling had a love for farming. On his family estate in Barnwell, South Carolina, he and his brother the late Deacon Randor L. Snelling grew watermelons and cantaloupes. He would bring his harvest to Orangeburg to sell. David's patrons grew to love him and would frequent his location on Belleville Road, at the home of his sister, the late Rosa Snelling Lofton, to purchase his home-grown fruits.
Educated in the public schools of Barnwell County; Mr. Snelling was employed by Revco of Cayce, South Carolina from which he retired in the late 1990s.
