"Mother," Susie R. Ferguson was born in Savannah, GA, on December 27, 1931, the daughter of the late Mr. Jim Roberts and Sister Maggie Roberts. At an early age, she became a member of United House of Prayer for All People. She later joined, Faith Temple Holiness Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. She later joined Nazarene Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an usher, missionary, secretary, president of the senior choir, and an excellent Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed teaching and sharing God's word, that was her greatest passion. She was a graduate of Fairfax Public School and worked at the Allendale County Hospital, retiring after thirty-eight years of service.
On January of 1954, she married the love of her life, the late Judge Rufus E. Ferguson. "Mother" Ferguson had a heart of giving and sharing with everyone. She loved cooking and studying her bible. Another favorite hobby was her passion for "gardening." Mother Ferguson was a deaconess, and she was also a member of Fidelity Chapter #40 OES, Allendale, South Carolina. In addition, to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Judge Rufus E. Ferguson and her only sister Virginia Williams.
On Sunday, August 4, 2019, God said, "Well Done thy good and faithful Servant, you have fought a good fight, you have finished the race and have kept the faith. Come on home my child and take your rest."
Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her devoted children whom she adored and loved dearly, along with a host of cousins and many dear friends.
